When I 1st got this guitar I was really nervous. I heard mixed reviews about it, some saying it was awesome and some saying it sucked. I was pleasantly surprised when i plugged it in 2 my amp(it's a crappy amp and the Les Paul sounded way better than my Strat!). It's easy 2 move your fingers, sounds great, looks great and makes it so ur cables never fall out. my one complaint is there's only 1 tone and 1 volume, but it still has that Les Paul sound! It sounds great dirty and clean and is great for rockin out!!LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now while I can't say that this is just as good as a Gibson its close enough. Bought this guitar from American Musical Supply for $319.99 (with free shipping) and for the price it is not bad at all. I ordered it on Sunday night arrived Wednesday playable right out of the box!!!Looks
Its truly beautiful not as detailed as Gibson but who cares. I got the ebony with chrome hardware the picture does not do this guitar justice. I swear it looks three times as good as it does in the picture.
Sound
For a guitar of this price the pickups are great. On a clean channel the neck/rhythm pickup provides a nice thick rich warm bluesy tone with sustain that seems to last forever! While the bridge/treble pickup provides a bright perfect tone. When mixed with my Big Muff Pi & Boss DS-2
Turbo Distortion pedals (both are a great buy) it provides deep smooth rhythms and ear scorching leads.
Durability
The guitar it self is very well made and can take quite a beating.
My only gripe so far is it goes out of tune with the original strings. So I swapped them out for a new set haven't had a problem since.
Overall
If your looking for a cheap alternative to a $2000-3000 Gibson Les Paul without sacrificing sound or durability this is by far your best bet. If something ever happened to it without a thought I'd replace it in a second.

No complaints whatsoever -- it came from the factory with the truss perfectly set, and it only took minor tweaks to the action and a slight shim for the neck (I'm obsessive when it comes to fast action on my guitars), and I was shredding away in no time. This is an excellent guitar for a beginner, or, if you're a more advanced player in search of some vintage looks on a budget, this is right up your alley. Get a new set of pickups -- EMGs, Seymour Duncans, or DiMarzios will work great -- and you've got looks AND tone. Just don't expect that solid mahogany-body sustain you'd get from a real LP -- this one's plywood. Agathis. Tonewood. Whatever Epiphone's buzzword of the week happens to be.Bottom line: for $150, you can't go wrong with this guitar. Out of all the guitars I own, I keep coming back to this one. Of course, unlike your average Jackson or B.C. Rich, the Les Paul body design doesn't have any pointy things to dig into one's crotch... That might have a bit to do with it as well. Are you still reading this? Just buy it already!

I have had my KH 202 for about four months now, and I have been very happy with it. It is a great looking instrument, and has a very balanced feel. The skull inlays are very eye-catching, and really give it that metal edge. The action was adjusted perfectly from the factory. Low and fast, easy to play. The licensed Floyd Rose trem works beautifully, and stays in tune better than my Dean hardtail. The EMG designed pickups have a good sound and tone range. I'm going to update them with a hotter passive EMG H4/H4A pair in the near future. If you are a Kirk Hammett or Metallica fan, this is your ticket for under 500 dollars. Wow, for the price its impossible not to give this guitar a 5 star rating. This is better than most of those $500 guitars that try to have a nice shape. The design was what caught my eye at the guitar shop, and than i saw the price. The other reviewer said it had bad humbuckers/pickups, but he must have a crappy amp, cause this guitar carried a mean, tuff tone on everything. haha, its not a good idea to play acoustic style songs on this, as i've tried. Truely for the metal-hard rock lovers. But i play mostly Punk, and it gets the job done. You won't find a better guitar, for this price; especially the looks.GET THIS HERE !!
Ibanez XPT700 Xiphos Red Chameleon
I have been playing for around 9 years now, this guitar is one of my favorite guitars to play. It has smooth action and playability. The paint job is amazing more over the green and blue paint jobs. Its comfortable for sitdown play for me. (I play with the bridge joint resting on my leg.) The pick ups are very nice... They are dimarzio, would you expect anything less from them? The edge tremolo is very nice the smoothness of a khaler but the action of a floyd rose! All in all if you are into metal or hard rock music this guitar is a perfect choice.

You will love this guitar as I do. The neck is very easy to play.The pickups are OK but come on you can't beat EMGS so I put some active EMG 81/85 pickups(Zakk Wylde uses this setup) in this thing and OMG it is beyond belief how great it sounds. My buddies can't believe how great this guitar sounds-buy it you'll love it!

These are easily the greatest guitar picks i have ever used. They are easy to grip and i have never dropped one since i have used them. A must for guitar players who hate dropping picks!!
Dunlop Tortex Picks, 60mm
This has been my favorite brand/model of picks for some time now. They are just grippable enough to hang on to well, but not so much that they produce any scratchiness when using them with a good set of strings (although I've heard the two heaviest gauges do produce a scratchy sound for some people - I personally switch back and forth between the 60mm and 88mm sizes, depending on what I'm playing). My favorite feature about these, though, definitely has to be that these little babies are darn near indestructible. I abuse the heck out of picks and can't recall every having had one go drastically out of shape or break on me even once.
Dunlop Tortex Picks, 88mm (pack of 12)
I've been playing guitar for 22 years now. For at least 20 of those years, I've been using Tortex picks, and I will never stop using them as long as I live.
The reason that I fell in love with these picks is that their edges aren't rounded like standard "Fender" style plastic or tortoise shell picks. The edge of a Tortex is cut at right angles, they have corners. When you peddal on a wound string, you get an amazingly crisp and sharp scraping timbre that just can't be achieved with standard rounded off picks. The catch is that of course the cornered edge wears down rather quickly as you play. You will only get this awesome sound for a few minutes. A professional performer would want to switch to a fresh pick at the beginning of each song. A bedroom virtuoso will get more use out of them.
Dunlop Tortex Picks, 73mm
Nice picks. I bought these (the yellow) and the green ones which are a little thicker. I prefer these to the green ones. I am used to playing with the fender medium picks. These yellow dunlops are closer to fender mediums... maybe slightly thicker. Best guess is that they function in btwn a fender medium and heavy.
All in all a nice pick. Doesn't slip like the fenders and it "feels" like i can pick scales better. I think I will stick with this brand for a while and maybe even try the set that is one step thinner just to see.
Musicians Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Gig Bag
Musician's Friend ships orders very quickly and I got this bag together with my new dreadnought guitar within 3 days. This bag is really well priced ($15) so it's a great deal. It is built with very sturdy nylon which protects the guitar well. The nylon is not very thick (about a quarter-inch), but it gets the job done. It also has nice shoulder straps to allow carrying the guitar over your back. The only weakness is that it does not have many/good pocket compartments. It has a large pocket but the pocket cover is not tightly closed - it's closed with a strap, so things could fall out if you somehow get the bag upside down. It also has a smaller pocket on top of the larger pocket - this pocket has a zipper and things will not fall out. Overall a great bag for the price.
On-Stage Folding Tripod Guitar Stand, Black
This stand is exactly what I hoped it would be. It is all I want or need from a stand. I do not intend to travel around with it but it would be easy to fold up to do so. The strap for across the neck of the guitar to hold it into place is a great plus too. Can't beat it for the price and American Musical Supply shipped this item the next business day after ordering. Delivery cost was low and it arrived in just a few days standard shipping to Texas.
Hosa Cable Effects Pedal Cable (6 Pack)
I've been looking for a set, and these are the perfect ones. Sure you can buy one for $6 or a set of 6 for $10. Great deal, in my opinion. They are solid cables, no transfering fuzzy scratchy noises like my old ones. Well done.

Protec Guitar Strap
Pro Tec manufactures a variety of accessories for musical instruments. Their low cost black nylon guitar strap, is a well constructed high quality item, that is a top seller at Amazon. The large sized attachment tabs are quite thick, about 1/8 inch. Although the fit on the typical guitar strap nuts is snug, some type of strap retainer would still be recommended. Black works with most colors, and this strap should last for a long time, but it is so inexpensive, if you qualify for free shipping, you might want to consider ordering a spare.
Planet Waves Pro String Winder and Cutter

I used my PlanetWaves Pro for the first time last night. The pin puller works smoothly, and the string winder doesnt come unscrewed constantly like every other one I've owned!
The componenet that really made my day was the string cutter. The 'blade' aint that sharp, but easily whacks the end of a low E string. Since there is only a little exposed metal, all of which is smooth and rounded, the risk of scratching your guitar is minimal, and the small cutting head makes it easy to trim the string very close to the peg.
The Pro String Winder appears to be well built, and I suspect that it will last me quite a while. Even if if conks out in a year (not that I think it will), its a good bargain, and I'll buy another.

So the TS9DX arrived today. This is what I've been searching for! The sound. It brings my amp right where it needs to be. This was made for classic rock. I have yet to really use the last two settings. I like the TS808 and + settings. I love this pedal!
Xotic Effects BB Preamp Overdrive / Distortion Pedal
I use this with a Strat and a Suhr Badger 18Watt combo, and it sounds really good. It maintains your playing dynamics, and doesn't muddy the sound like most other overdrive pedals.
It's true bypass meaning it will not affect your signal at all when bypassed, which is nice if you have a quality guitar and amp, but I don't even care cause I leave it on most of the time!
It accepts a standard Boss AC adapter and has a battery compartment.
This is probably not what you're looking for if you are a metal player, but if you play blues/rock, do yourself a favor and check this pedal out!
DigiTech TL-2 HardWire Metal Distortion Extreme-Performance Pedal
This is hands down the best metal distortion stomp box u can get at the moment. it has such good clarity and sustain... i play alot of metal from metallica to new age metalcore and thrash... There is nothing more i can say it is by far the best sounding metal distortion stompbox out there today... Also there is barley any feedback when u are not playing.
Electro-Harmonix Little Big Muff Distortion Pedal
This pedal is great. The Sustain knob (controls dist./sust.) has a wide range of choices. You want a great 70's dist. or a bit more heavy? Just adjust the knob! AWESOME and very smooth sustain, and the tone is killer from this pedal. I only had to tweak the knobs a bit before I had "that" feeling iin the back of my neck. The one that says, "That's it right there!"
The size of this pedal is nice too, it's a bit wider than say a BOSS, but it doesn't take up too much room. The box is pretty sturdy, it will take some abuse!
Alone or with a few effects, this is a great pedal
Maxon OD808 Overdrive Pedal
The Maxon OD-808 is simply the best I've played.
The controls are simple: Overdrive, tone, balance. 'Nuff said. I was amazed by how much range I found within these, though! My favorite setting is Overdrive and Tone at around 12 noon, with Balance at about 2-3:00. Awesome...super creamy and responsive. I play with a Telecaster, and this thing makes it sound like a dream that shakes me walls (normally considered a nightmare).
I've never played an original tube screamer, but this thing is 99% the same pedal, down to the chipset inside (based on the research I did). Plus, at 100 bucks cheaper, why not go Maxon anyway? Seriously invest in one of these. Pricier than some other overdrives, but well worth the cost.
Digitech DDM Death Metal Analog Distortion Pedal
This pedal is perfect for any metal head! Don't waste you time on the other pedals. This one is the best you can get, and it's cheap too!

-Makes small amps sound huge, and huge amps sound... well just sound bigger.
-Can get soft sounds out of it

-Built like a tank!

Maestro guitars of any kind are of great quality for the price. If this is ur first electric guitar you'll love it. Two suggestions though. The strings sound good right out of the box but don't last long. New strings is needed fast (heavy duty preferably). Next thing, the amp is pretty amazing for the size but it only has a tone knob so adjusting the sound basically meens really bassy (only the top 3 strings) or really tenor (the bottom 3 strings). Overall a great deal and awsome for beginners. Happy Playing.

Just the facts: Paid the extra for the expedited delivery. Guitar arrived in case packed in original Gibson cardboard box - on time and no damage. Some buzzes coming from a and e strings, haven't done any tweaking yet. Fret work seems even, but a bit sharp on the ends. Neck feels just right - not too fat. They just bumped the price up by 2 bills. Sound is pure Les Paul. No inlay on headstock - just a sticker. I would buy another one - even at the new price.

Just bought this guitar a few weeks ago, and believe me, its an amazing piece of musical instrument...its playability, the way the sustain just easily rolls off without too much work, and the looks and build quality is undeniably Gibson. I still have my old Epiphone Les Paul and it has served me well, but my new Gibson is lighter, sound tons better, and the action is low and easy.
If you don't need the LP Standard binding, and care less about the added price, then the Studio LP should be your next axe...same electronics and same sweet rockin' sound with the awesome sustain to boot. Great guitar!

This guitar is the best playing, best sounding guitar I have ever owned, and I have been playing for 30 years! I grew up on Fenders and through the years have never found a Gibson that really "felt right." Now my Strat is feeling neglected! Its just amazingly perfect for playing at home!!
It includes everything. And I mean everything that you might need. Its not even mentioned in the product description that a headset is also included! Which is totally what I needed as I play it for hours and hours and I should not be disturbing others. Amp is cool, its loud enough for home use. It has Bass and Treble effects as well which is very cool. A guitar stand is also included which makes it easy to keep the guitar when not in use.
About the guitar itself, it needed a bit of tuning when I took it out of the box, but that was again very easy with the chromatic tuner provided. After that tuning its just been sounding inch perfect!
Everyone around me is in love with this guitar. Trust me it won't let you down. A fender is always a good choice! Specially if it comes with all the accessories for a really great price!

I don't know much about guitars so I can't compare this item with other guitars.
For the price of this setup I would consider it a bargain. Including a tuner is a life saver since I am tone deaf and would have no other way to tune the guitar. Including the guitar stand was another bonus I never thought of. Now after practicing I have a convenient place for the guitar.
At first I wondered whether the problem was the guitar when I had trouble with cords. Now I know it was me. After a lot of practice I get it right most of the time.
I would recommend this item to anyone starting out to learn how to play a guitar.
Fender Starcaster Electric Guitar Pack with Amp and Accessories, Candy Apple Red
It's a great guitar with great sound; honestly, the sound is fantastic. And there are a lot of peripheral items included at a fabulous price. We've had no problems at all with the cord or amp, and the sound that little amp makes it really clear. Hit the overdrive, and you get a nice distortion sound. You can't control the amount of overdrive (it's either on or off), but for a beginner or for household use, it's perfect. The compact guitar stand is very stable for its size.
If there is one drawback to the guitar, the edges of the frets are a little rough, something I've never encountered with a Fender product before. I find it noticible, but I wouldn't even call it uncomfortable. And certainly not so rough as to cut up your hands, as one reviewer exaggerated.
One final note, the guitar not only sounds great, it looks beautiful as well. The candy-apple red color is rich and deep (slightly darker than the picture), and the finish has no flaws at all.

I give this four stars for a starter set. the guitar, overall plays pretty well. It's a fender, of course it plays well. but, the 6th string and the 3rd string go out of tune VERY quickly. like, maybe two minutes after play without a tune up. the strap is a firestarter, good for about 2 months of regular play. the amp is great, good clear sound, even when its turned way up. the cable is also cheap, but fixable. it broke down after 3 months.
Personally, since I had been playing with my acoustic for about a year and a half previous to buying this, I regretted it. If you're alreay an intermediate guitarist, go for quality, not everything in one package.
